Beluga Lake Fly-In
Fishing Trip Movies
These were movies that I shot with my
digital camera on the Beluga
Lake trip. You'll need
Apple QuickTime to view them. If you don't have QuickTime you'll need to
download and install the free software, Click Here to download Apple
QuickTime Player. They are basically the takeoffs, landings, and approaches
when we were in the float plane, plus my dad catching the only edible fish of
the day (I caught two suckerfish earlier but were too small and definitely not
edible). The files are all 5-10 megabytes each so don't even think of viewing
them if you have a regular dialup internet connection (you'll need a connection
such as a cable modem, DSL, or T1). The take off and landing for each place is
broken into two files because of limitations of my camera.

The Lake
Hood Takeoff was very
nice, the water was calm. This was at about 8am when we just started out on the
trip.
Beluga Lake
Landing #1(first half of the landing-approx 10.5mb)

Landing #2 (second half of the landing-approx 8.3mb)
This was when we were dropped off at Beluga Lake,
about 8:30am. Notice on the second file when the actual landing took place when
the camera bounces (more than normal), that's when we landed. It was a smooth
landing, as the lake was very calm.
The Dad-Catch
of the Day (approx 7.4mb)
This is the only fish that was decent the whole day
for us.
Lake Hood
Approach-End of the Day (approx 9.0mb)
The Lake Hood approach file isn't of a landing, just of a
quick aerial shot of Lake
Hood. It was really windy
when we landed so I didn't even film it. I tried to hold the camera as still as
I could.
